About El Camaleón Mayakoba Golf Course

El Camaleón at Mayakoba is Mexico's most celebrated golf course and the only one to host a PGA Tour event — the WBC-Mexico Championship, which has attracted world #1 players including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Dustin Johnson.

Greg Norman's design is a masterpiece of diversity. The first nine holes wind through dense mangrove forests and alongside freshwater lagoons teeming with wildlife. The back nine transitions to open Caribbean scrubland, cenote formations, and culminates in three oceanfront holes.

The course takes its name — "El Camaleón" (The Chameleon) — from its dramatic shifts in environment. No two consecutive holes feel the same. Playing conditions are tour-caliber, and the Mayakoba resort infrastructure (four luxury hotels including Rosewood and Banyan Tree) ensures a premium experience.
